Each student is entitled to a minimum set of furniture, a mattress, a pillow and bed linen.

Who is entitled to a hostel

Dormitories are designed for the settlement of nonresident students. Local applicants can also apply for a place if they have good reasons for it. Their settlement is possible only subject to availability.

First of all, preferential categories of students are eligible to receive a room:

  • persons with disabilities I and II groups;
  • disabled since childhood;
  • orphans;
  • children of parents with disabilities;
  • children from large families;
  • children from incomplete and low-income families;
  • persons affected by radiation and nuclear disasters;
  • participants and veterans of hostilities.

The remaining places are distributed among students on a competitive basis. Preference is given to those who entered the university without passing exams (winners and winners of the Olympiad). Then take into account the scores on the exam and entrance tests. The better your results, the higher the chances of getting the cherished place .

If you entered the university on a fee basis, then you have the right to a hostel. However, in most universities, payers can participate in the competition only if there are free places after the state employees have settled and will have to pay a higher rate.

Step 2. Collect documents

Mid August . To check in the hostel you will need:

  • passport and its copy (the first page with a photo and a stamp with registration);
  • certificate of family composition and income;
  • 2 photos 3 x 4 cm;
  • in the presence of benefits - a copy and the original document confirming them (certificate of disability, orphan status, etc.);
  • military certificate or registration certificate, if you are required for military service;
  • medical reference form 086y + fluorography;
  • medical policy OMC.

This list may vary depending on the university. Find out the exact list on the website of the institution or in the selection committee. If there is a medical certificate on the list, check its appearance. For some universities, it is enough to provide information on the passage of fluorography, and somewhere they will require the results of a complete medical examination with tests and vaccinations.

Step 3. Sign the lease agreement

End of August. This can be done after the rector’s order to provide you with a place in the hostel. If you are under 18, the contract is signed by one of the parents. A legal representative must have a passport with you. The contract of employment is for the entire period of study.

Step 4. Settle in the hostel

End of August. After signing the contract, find out the address of your hostel and the timing of settlement. We recommend to come to the beginning of the settlement. So you will have the opportunity to choose a room and future neighbors. Typically, universities require payment for accommodation before settling.

The order of payment for the hostel

Paying for a hostel is usually necessary every month. Payment consists of the amount of accommodation and utilities. The first amount depends on the region where the housing is located, the condition of the premises and the equipment of the buildings. Utility bills are charged at rates set by the government.

Preferential categories of students (disabled, orphans, etc.) are exempted from payment. In this case, the fee for students studying on a commercial basis is greater than for state employees. In some universities, excellent students can provide a hostel for free.

Be sure to check whether the stated price includes payment of utility bills.

What to do if you do not get a place

Do not despair. All is not lost. Places in the hostel may be vacated due to the departure of other students. You can claim them in turn. To do this, you must regularly check your turn. Every month you have to confirm that you still need a hostel. You can do this on the website in your personal account or when contacting the person in charge in the dean's office. Some universities guarantee a place for freshmen next year who did not receive it on admission. Provided that they will not have tails on exams and tests.

It is not enough to get a place in a hostel, it is important not to lose it. Comply with all terms of the contract of employment and do not violate discipline.
